Kurz:The socio-cultural construction of LGBTQ stigma within the African context as „unAfrican“

This is a talk about the socio-cultural construction of LGBTQ stigma within the African context as „unAfrican“. Intersectionality framework will be used for analyzing the construction, labeling and discrimination of LGBTQ using multiple interlocking identities. In order to understand the complexities underlying LGBTQ stigma processes, there needs to be a holistic approach for better sensitization especially from the cultural perspective. Empirical findings will be used as examples to illustrate the perceptions and beliefs reinforcing social stigma, religious stigma, homophobic violence, discrimination, with several other adverse effects undermining the basic human rights of LGBT.

The talk will be given by Joyceline N. Yuh.
Joyce is a feminist working on her doctoral dissertation. The talk will be in English.

Der Raum wird später auf unserer Website und Facebook bekannt gegeben. Der Vortrag ist offen für all_no gender
